Financial Crisis?

Refering to a quote.

If you see your neighbour lost his/her job. It means recession. If you lost your job. It means depression.

Oh yeah. its recession time. You and I are experiencing it. Well, you might be wondering. How did that happen?

I found this interesting diagram today at Mint. Picture says it all.

As G.W. Bush said “We got a big problem”. Geee. Thanks Uncle Bush. Now, we got a big problem to fix.

Formula One Cars Displayed During Malaysia Grand Prix Week

The second grand prix has just ended in Malaysia last Sunday. And its off to the third stop Dubai GP. After a week of unusual weather where it almost rained every afternoon, the Ferrari team came back with a victory here in Malaysia. As usual before the Grand Prix, Kuala Lumpur City will be decorated with cars and banners by the organizers to promote the sport. Empty car shells were displayed at major shopping malls such as KLCC and Pavilion Bukit Bintang for locals or visitors to take pictures. This year car simulators seems to be a hit. When your purchase the official team merchandise and your total bill is over RM200, you get a chance to try it. Oh yeah, an official shirt would most likely be over 200. Cant imagine. BMW Sauber‘s Formula One Car is being displayed at KLCC for the whole week. The team also visited the tower on Thursday. Got a chance to take some snap shots of the car. AT&T Williams Team had a private function on friday nite. So not much I can do but to take pictures from outside. Besides from Formula One just discoverd one thing nice at Pavilion is that they hire people to play live music at different corner of the mall everyday. So if you enjoy live acoustic music you can head over there during evening. Most important thing its free!

Malaysia Putra Light Rail Transit Passenger Trend

Personally I wish I have the statistics to plot out the trend of passenger taking Putra LRT from Kelana Jaya to KLCC on Kelana Jaya Line. This is based on my observation on the train starting at 7:10am. The whole journey would normally takes about 50 mins. As you can see the comfort level of taking the public transport is pretty low. There’s no chance you can get a sit on the train during rush hours. Even if you do, you should probably give the sits to those in need which I doubt the majority of Malaysia would do so. Since there’s no place to sit. The best place to stand would be the middle section of the train. Train doors closes quite fast. So if you in the middle of the train please move fast or else.

Christmas Decoration at Kuala Lumpur City

Its Friday and its raining at rush hour. Everyone’s rushing to go home except me. I knew that its going to be jam pack with people taking PUTRA LRT. I would rather go home late. So decided to take a few shoots of the Christmas decoration at the shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur. The first two shoots was taken at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. This shopping mall just opened not too long ago. Targeting mid range and above income group of people to shop there. 80% of its shop lots are being filled up already. However, more branded boutiques are due to open soon. Cautions to people going there. Parking at the mall is quite expensive, it goes by hourly rate. Would advise you to park at Star Hill Gallery as it is flat rate during weekends. The last two shoots were taken at Suria KLCC. Its a huge Christmas tree sitting at the middle of center court. The last picture is actually a performance for the Designer Tree Charity Auction Cocktail Event.

Quick update

Just a quick post..Actually there’s nothing to update. Yeah, started new work at 12th of November. I am officially working in a KL CITY. Enjoying every moment when I am caught in the jam driving to work. Or getting sardined by ppl when I take the LRT. There’s no better alternative than flying to work. I guess every big cities has this kinda problem. More roads are built to accommodate more car coming in. I personally think that is not the solution. The government should invest more on public transport. Hope my tiny little voice can be heard. Well, the work environment was not so bad. I have my own cubicle at last and A 22″ LCD monitor + a duo core CPU. So I pretty much have my own privacy/space and quite a high end computer to play with. I always wonder why I was not given a laptop. Anyhow, the office is located right at the center of the city. There’s tons of shopping mall and hotels around the area. I know, it a heaven for the ladies to shop when it comes to year end sales. I would like to do so to, but my wallet is a bit tight. Okay thats it for now.

P/S: Was back home last weekend, and I still enjoy cycling around a small serene little town like MUAR, less crowded, less traffic.

Swimming on a Sunday at National Aquatic Center

Just a thought of going swimming I had today and I did not bother to think twice whether to go or not even though there’s a little bit of rain. Most people would probably stay home. But for me, just drive there dont think so much. I’ve been a regular pool visitor few years ago. I would normally go on weekdays or weekends depends on my schedule. But I have given up the will to go there ever since I started jogging. Reason is because driving to National Aquatic Center by myself for a 20 mins swim is time consuming. I can start jogging around the neighborhood at anytime I want. Besides that it also took me at least 30 mins to get there. If I am lucky enough I do not have to pay for my parking which cost 2 bucks if I am not mistaken. But that is not the issue. The admission fee isnt cheap. It cost RM 5 for weekends and RM 4 for weekdays to get in the National Aquatic Center. So basically you can do the calculation. In order to start swim you basically have to pay at least RM15 ~ 20 (including patrol for driving). So I think its not that worth it. Well, there’s another pool around PJ area but that is a bit doggy. There’s crack tiles at the bottom of the swimming pool. If your not careful enough you might cut yourself. So I would prefer to pay more to use a better facility.
